AML Policy
Effective date: September 18, 2026
This AML Policy explains the risk-based approach used by ETH-Swap.io to reduce money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion and other prohibited use of the crypto-to-crypto exchange service.
Standard eligible orders do not require routine KYC at the start. This does not mean that every transaction is exempt from review or that the service guarantees anonymous or untraceable exchange activity.

Risk-Based Screening
ETH-Swap.io may evaluate transaction and wallet information to identify risk signals relevant to the order.
A review may be triggered by factors such as:
- wallet or transaction history associated with elevated risk;
- indications of stolen or fraud-related funds;
- sanctions or restricted-activity indicators;
- unusual transaction patterns;
- inconsistent order information;
- suspected abuse of the service;
- a security incident;
- a valid legal or regulatory request.
ETH-Swap.io does not publish internal risk thresholds or screening logic because doing so could undermine the purpose of the controls.
When Additional Information May Be Requested
If a risk-based review is triggered, ETH-Swap.io may request information reasonably necessary to understand the transaction and decide whether the order can be processed.
Depending on the circumstances, requested information may include:
- transaction details;
- source-of-funds context;
- purpose of the exchange;
- evidence of control over a wallet;
- supporting documents;
- identity-related information when required by the review.
The exact request depends on the risk identified. ETH-Swap.io does not request seed phrases, private keys or wallet passwords as part of an AML review.
Prohibited Activity
ETH-Swap.io must not be used to facilitate:
- theft or handling of stolen assets;
- fraud, scams or deceptive activity;
- money laundering;
- sanctions evasion;
- financing of prohibited activity;
- unauthorized access to wallets or accounts;
- attempts to conceal the origin or destination of funds in violation of applicable requirements;
- other unlawful or prohibited transactions.
Users must provide accurate information when a review is required and must not intentionally misrepresent the origin, destination or purpose of funds.
Sanctions and High-Risk Activity
Where a transaction, wallet or counterparty presents sanctions-related or other elevated compliance risk, ETH-Swap.io may pause or decline processing while the case is reviewed.
The service does not claim a specific licence, regulator or jurisdiction where those facts have not been formally established. Risk handling is described here as an operational service policy rather than a claim of regulated status.
Possible Outcomes of a Review
Depending on the result of a risk-based review, ETH-Swap.io may:
- continue processing the order;
- request additional information;
- pause processing while information is reviewed;
- refuse to create or complete an order;
- cancel an order;
- restrict access to the service;
- return funds when technically possible, appropriate and permitted;
- preserve or provide relevant information when required by a valid legal or regulatory request.
The available outcome can depend on the transaction state, blockchain conditions and the reason for the review.
No Universal No-KYC Claim
For standard eligible crypto-to-crypto orders, a permanent account and routine KYC are not required at the start.
This should not be interpreted as a guarantee that KYC or additional verification can never be required. A risk-based review may require further information before an order can continue.
The absence of routine KYC also does not make public blockchain activity anonymous. Transactions may remain visible and traceable on the relevant blockchain.
User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for:
- using the service only for lawful activity;
- providing accurate order information;
- responding truthfully if additional information is requested;
- selecting the correct asset and blockchain network;
- entering a valid destination wallet address;
- sending only the asset specified in the active order.
Privacy and Compliance Data
Information collected during a review is handled according to the Privacy Policy.
Compliance-related information may be retained when reasonably necessary for risk management, security, dispute handling or applicable legal requirements.
